Fatal Road Accident Claims Indo-Canadian Youth's Life

A fatal road accident has left one Indo-Canadian youth dead.   A suspect has been charged after a man was struck and killed in Scarborough on Tuesday. Austin Delaney reports.
25-year-old Mandeep Singh died on spot was he was struck by a vehicle in the area of McCowan Road and Kenhatch Boulevard, just south of Finch Avenue, at approximately 6 am on Tuesday. The victim was walking when hit.
Mandeep's roommates later identified him.
Investigators said the impact of the collision threw Singh's from the northbound lanes of the road to the far southbound lanes.
Police said the driver fled the scene, but the vehicle, a black Pontiac Grand Am, was located a short distance away.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m., police confirmed that they had a suspect in custody. Officers said they were still looking for another person in connection with the case.
Sean England, 28, is facing several charges, including impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, failure to remain at the scene of an accident causing death, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
England is set to appear in court at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Toronto Police Const. Clint Stibbe said a TTC bus had been near the intersection at the time, and officers are reviewing on-board video. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact investigators.
